"Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." - Benjamin Franklin
I am very grateful for the freedoms I enjoy. I love the United States of America and am grateful I was born in such a great country. I especially love to celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day. Independence Day honors the birthday of the United States of America and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It's a day we should celebrate and be thankful for, even if all we do is have a picnic with friends and family and watch Fireworks. Heber, AZ has the BEST fireworks show I've ever seen and the Tenney's invite me to go almost every year and I love it!! It is so much fun.
Freedom is something you cannot buy. It was established here in the United States for our benefit. Men and women lost their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy and I am thankful for that. I am especially grateful for the freedom of religion. Freedom of religion is considered by many people and nations to be a fundamental human right. Thomas Jefferson said "among the inestimable of our blessings, also, is that ...of liberty to worship our Creator in the way we think most agreeable to His will; ..."
I couldn't agree more!

Great post Lindsay. We need to all appreciate this country and what it stands for and appreciate the men and women who have served and those who have lost their lives to maintain this freedom that we ALL enjoy.
Happy Veteran's Day! Thanks for the uplifting post. : )
