Day 5: Singles Ward

Believe it or not, YES I am grateful for a Singles Ward! I attend the Temple View Ward in San Take Stake and have been going to this ward for the last 15 months. It's a good ward. I love the Bishopric, I love my calling (Activities Co-Chair), and I love the people in my ward. This month marks the 1 year anniversary of becoming a ward. San Tan Stake had a branch, which I attended for about 3 months before the Greenfield Stake joined our branch, which made us a ward. It has taken me awhile to get to know everyone, and I still don't know EVERYONE especially since a lot of people ward hop, but I've made great friends and I'm thankful for the Young Single Adult program in our Church so we can meet people our own age.
Last weekend, a bunch of us got together and went to a Halloween Party at "The Hangover". There were TONS of people there, very VeRy interesting costumes, loud music, a lot of B.O....body odor that is....but we danced for hours and had a great time! I was a pirate for the 2nd or 3rd time in a row. I need a new costume for next year!!!

I enjoy the calling I have in my ward. It's A LOT of work, but I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to serve those who are in my ward, and most importantly for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord. That's really who we are serving when we fulfill our callings. I'm always looking for more ways to serve, whether it's helping my Mom or Dad with something, baking cookies for someone, babysitting for my friends, visiting my Granddad, helping someone move, or even just calling a loved one on the phone just to say "hi", I want to do more. We are blessed when we serve others and is it not always MORE beneficial to the individual serving rather than the individual receiving the service?? For me it is.

As the Prophet-King Benjamin taught, “When we are in the service of our fellow beings we are only in the service of our God.” - Mosiah 2:17

That looks like a fun party. I think we talked about this already, but I'm pretty sure that's where Jodi was at that night, too.

And, nice shot of my cousin, Jake & his friend Kenny. : ) He obviously hasn't had the same practice with the flash that you & I have had. RETAKE! : )
